COURSE DESCRIPTION
This workshop will focus on the use of various sound formats in the picture and sound editing process. From multi-track location sound recordings to various stems and foldown delivery tracks from the editors, mixers and composers; knowing how to ingest, work with and output the files is more and more demanding and complex.
OUTLINE
Session 1: 10:00 AM
1. Metadata - importance of preserving captured information
2. Production sound formats and techniques of ingesting media for editing
3. Working with “Field Recorder Workflow” in Pro Tools
4. Techniques for correcting out of sync audio delivered via OMF/AAF
Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 12:25 PM
Session 2: 12:30 PM
5. Conforming and working with various delivery stems from sound editorial and mix
6. Working with music stems from composer
BIO
Roland Vajs has been working as a sound editor and mixer for over twenty years, and has been a member of the editor’s guild since 1998, He is currently working on “One Dollar”, CBS Series, directed by Craig Zobel. His previous credits include Foley editing on “The First Purge”, “We the Animals” and dialogue editing on “Come Sunday” and “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.”
