Walking for Millions
On Sunday, October 15, the Editors Guild Aids Walk Team walked with 30,000 other participants in the 22nd annual LA AIDS Walk. The walk raised a record $3.3 million, with the Guild team of 21 doing its part with over $7,500 in contributions. Board Member Stephanie Lowry, part of the team for the first time, raised over $3,400 herself!
Thanks to all who walked and to all who made contributions. Many in need will be helped by your generous participation. And a special thank you goes out to LA MadDogs for its yearly sponsorship of the team with the special Editors Guild Aids Walk T-shirts, and to Maggie Ostroff for her annual organizing of the walk.
GUILD GOES WITH GREENE

The New Year brings a new face to the Editors Guild in Hollywood. Field Representative Catherine Cusimano resigned her position with us in early December to pursue employment outside the entertainment industry. She has done a great job helping the members and made a tremendous contribution to this union. We wish her much success in her future endeavors.
With her departure, we hired a new Field Representative, Karen Greene. Karen has worked as an assistant editor, primarily on TV series and movies-of-the-week. After taking a cinematography course and making her own film, she discovered her love of editing. That prompted her to pursue a MA in communications from the University of Alabama.
Greene also served on our Board of Directors a few years ago. Her passion to help improve the post-production environment is what triggered her interest in coming to work for the Guild. We welcome her and anticipate her playing a vital role as part of our team.
