Premiere Pro: Ingest to Output - Session 2

This course is open to 15 active assistant or Editing Room Assistant who'd like to learn Premiere Pro workflow. 

COURSE DESCRIPTION
 
A Premiere overview with particular attention paid to transitioning between NLEs. In this course, we'll cover the timeline of a show from creating a project to ingesting footage to outputting final deliveries.  


OUTLINE

  1. Organizing the Finder & setting up a project. 
  • Defining the parts & customizing the workspace
  • Using the media browser (collaborating, make project smaller)
        2. Ingesting media & preparing it. 
  • Create sequence from media
  • Inputting clip metadata 
  • Syncing media, group, multigroup 
        3. Basic editing techniques. 
  • Performing insert, overwrite, and replace edits
  • Trimming, splitting, moving, and deleting clips
  • Performing intermediate editing and trimming techniques
  • Making audio level adjustments and mixing audio
  • Applying transitions, 
  • Premiere FX to be aware of 
  • Color correction techniques (very basic)
  • Changing clip speed
  • Multicam editing (basic techniques)
  • Nested Sequences
        4. Creating deliverables. 
  • Exporting work around
        5. Premiere intricacies & review.
  • After Effects integration
  • Creating titles, credit rolls, and lower thirds


BIO

SCOTT SCHULER is an AE & editor based in Brooklyn. Scott has assisted many successful indies (The Hero, Dog Eat Dog, My Blind Brother) as well as edited various web series including Michael Urie’s What’s Your Emergency. Currently, Scott is assisting the documentary Straight/Curve about the dangerous standards of beauty set by the fashion industry. With proficiency in Adobe Premiere & Avid Media Composer, he's excited to share his knowledge with fellow union members.
