Board of Directors

After the meeting, Board members and invited guests met at our annual Installation Dinner in the Roof Garden at the Universal Sheraton. President Donn Cambern spoke to the group, praising the office staff for their tireless service and dedication to the Guild. He noted that with the staff's commitment to excellence, the Guild has enjoyed one of its most successful years ever. He also praised two board members for their outstanding contributions to the Guild this year: Sharon Smith Holley, for producing the 'Assistant to Assistant' and 'Conversations with...' seminars and Steve Cohen for his work on the Newsletter and web site. Both were presented with gift certificates in recognition of their efforts.

Cambern also discussed his concerns about the coming changes that all Guild members face: the increasing pace of technical change, the problem of runaway production, and uncertainties about Internet delivery of video and film projects. He cautioned everyone in attendance to prepare for new challenges with a combination of knowledge and patience.
