Organizing Heats Up
Guild members and office staff joined other IATSE locals on December 26th picketing outside a Regal cinema in Whittier.Many potential patrons were turned away, some clutching coupons to other cinemas given them by the picketers. Regal Cinemas is trying to replace professional, full-time union projectionists with part-time, low wage, no-benefit positions. Boycott Regal and Edwards Cinemas.

On December 5th Eric Chaudron organized a rally in support of the 'Mike Hammer' strike. A large crowd of IATSE members from a variety of locals gathered outside KCALchannel 9 which broadcasts the show. The rally kicked off a nationwide campaign to educate viewers and sponsors about the unfair labor practices occurring at 'Hammer' and Franklin/Waterman Productions.
