Over 330 retirees and their guests attended the annual Western Region Retirees Luncheon on May 19 at the Sportsmen's Lodge Event Center in Studio City. After a garden cocktail reception, lunch was served, followed by everyone congratulating our most recent retirees in attendance: Charles Gary Crutcher, Virginia Ellsworth, John La Salandra, Miklos Gyulai, Peter Hochberg, Lisa Morlas, and Don Roth.

More than 120 retired members and guests attended the second annual Eastern Region Retirees Luncheon on May 13 at Gallagher's Steak House, a few blocks north of the Local 700 office. President Lisa Churgin thanked the retirees for building the strong foundation on which our union now stands. As luncheon chairman, I made a special gift presentation to Bernie Balmuth in recognition of his 30 years of service as a delegate to the Hollywood Entertainment Labor Council. The first Retirees Luncheon was in 1981 and is now held annually on the first Sunday after Mother's Day.

2nd Vice President Martin Levenstein addressed the near-capacity crowd and thanked everyone who attended. Former Business Agent Dave Roland also spoke, offering a brief history of Local 771, and urging current members to remain aware of what is happening both inside and outside of the Local.
