We've Worked More
than 2.5 Million Hours

Entertainment production is booming in and around L.A. and more of it is unionized. The Motion Picture Industry Health Plan qualifying hours are a good barometer of production and they show a steady improvement over the last three years. Between September 1993 and March 1994 2,316 Guild members worked a total of 2,161,615 qualifying hours. Those numbers rise to 2,830 members working 2,523,704 qualifying hours between March and September 1996. All the locals covered by the IATSE Basic Agreement have seen improvement during the same period, reflecting both booming production and active union organizing efforts.
