New Faces At The Office

Eric Chaudron is our new field rep./organizer. He comes to us from the L.A. County Federation of Labor (to which the Guild is affiliated), where he planned and coordinated rallies and ran political campaigns for the

Federation. Eric's degrees in economics and law give him a great background for pursuing our interests, plus he has worked as a political organizer in Sacramento. His wife, Andrea, is an aide to California Assemblymember Havice.

Though he's a member of the State Bar Eric never wanted to be a lawyer as such. During and after college he worked in construction in Reno then combined that experience with his degrees to become an organizer for the State Building & Construction Trades Council. Since starting with the Guild in August, Eric has been reading everything pertinent to editors that he can lay his hands on, from our contracts to books on film editing by Bernard Balmuth and Karel Reisz. He's experimented with the Avid, visited cutting-rooms and talked with other I.A. organizers.

If you haven't spoken to him yet, you can say "hi" at one of our monthly movie screenings.

Senida Santoyo has the difficult task of taking over from our administrative director, Lisa Berniker-Dosch, who's away on maternity leave until the end of the year. She's been a temp. at various entertainment companies such as F/X Sports and now she's deep in the mysteries of editing, grievances and the like - she's Ron's right arm. Senida is camera-shy so, if you want to know what she looks like, you'll have to find her at a screening or Board meeting.
