Editing Achievement Award

Dede Allen, A.C.E., was honored with the Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Editing Award at the 3rd Annual Hollywood Film Awards, held Monday, August 9, at the Beverly Hilton hotel. The gala awards ceremony was attended by several hundred filmmakers, celebrities and local politicians, and climaxed the nearly week-long Hollywood Film Festival, co-sponsored by the Motion Picture Editors Guild and ACE.

Upon receiving her award, Dede was honored with letters of appreciation from Warren Beatty and Paul Newman. A tribute film showcased clips from throughout her career, including "The Hustler", "Bonnie and Clyde", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Reds" and "The Addams Family".

In accepting the honor, Dede cited her love of filmmaking and dedication to the craft of editing as the keys to her longevity and success.
