The digital revolution has coincided with dramatic changes in the corporate climate of Hollywood. Digital technology has given the impression that films can be made in half the time, with half the crew and no compromise in the quality of our work or cost to our personal lives. This belief is naive. We need to develop strategies to cope with the new pressures that are affecting all of us.

A panel of members from each classification
will discuss the following issues and more:

  • What can we do to protect our interests?
  • Do we understand the provisions of the contract?
  • How to put "teeth" in your personal service contract.
  • How to write an effective deal memo.
  • How can we establish lines of communication between sound and picture departments?
  • How can editors redefine an efficient and fair hierarchy in the editing room?
  • How can we create standardization of editing procedures?

Exchanging information and getting insights into our problems is the greatest tool we have for changing our conditions.

Please attend the caucus or caucuses that best relate to your present work situation. If your classification is not specifically mentioned above, please attend the caucus that you feel will best address your issues.
