JOIN THE GUILD - West Coast - Sound

There are two steps that must be completed in order to join the Guild and work for union companies.

  1. Complete the orientation process at the Guild - located at 7715 Sunset Boulevard, Suite 200, Hollywood, CA 90046.

When you join the Motion Picture Editors Guild, you are also becoming a part of a larger entity, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Pictures Technicians and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE).

  2. You are joining an organization that is over 104,000 members strong!
  3. Submit your paperwork and fulfill the requirements of Contract Services Administration Trust Fund - located at 15387 Oxnard Street, Suite 200 Van Nuys, California 91411

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement in existence between the Producers and Local 700, employers are required to give preference of employment in all hires to persons who are already on the Industry Experience Roster, which is maintained by Contract Services Administration Trust Fund.

Making application for Industry Experience Roster placement is a separate and distinct process from applying for union membership. Additionally, making application for Industry Experience Roster placement does not automatically trigger union membership or vice - versa. It is your responsibility to initiate BOTH procedures.
