Shifting from Assistant Editor to Editor involves not only a new job classification, but it beckons a change in perspective as well.
Aimed at newly bumped-up editors of scripted television series and features, this Leadership Workshop will provide time-tested tips and advice from seasoned pros about navigating your first jobs as Editor, as well as a refresher of the union labor agreement.
New Editors will have the chance to learn problem-solving strategies and hear war stories from veterans as well as their peers.
Co-sponsored by American Cinema Editors (ACE), this session will be led by the following editors:
- Mark Hartzell, ACE - Lost in Space, Marvel's Agent Carter, True Blood
- Darrin Navarro, ACE - Killer Joe, The End of the Tour, and Mozart in the Jungle
- Shoshanah Tanzer - Queen Sugar, Jessica Jones, Looking for Alaska
- Susan Vaill, ACE - This Is Us, Lodge 49, Grey’s Anatomy
This is the second installment in a series of Membership Outreach Committee workshops.
Workshop will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants, open to Guild Members who have changed classification in the past 3 years from Assistant Editor to Editor on narrative scripted drama or comedy series.
Coffee and snacks will be served. We look forward to seeing you!
