Outline:

 

This seminar is designed for the up and coming ERA or Assistant Editor who has yet to work on a feature from beginning to end, although anyone in the guild is welcome.

 

 

Beth Moran has enjoyed a long career assisting many great Editors including Craig McKay, Carol Littleton and Dylan Tichenor. She has also served as VFX Editor on several films including “Zoolander 2” and “Into the Woods”; and for television, “Boardwalk Empire: Season 2.”

 

In addition to receiving Associate and co-Editor credits on two films with Craig McKay, she has edited numerous shorts and two features: “Deadman’s Barstool” (directed by Dean Dempsey), completed earlier this year and “Sunbelt Express” (directed by Evan Buxbaum) which was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Editing at the 2015 Newport Beach Film Festival.

 

She most recently assisted Naomi Geraghty on Neil Burger’s “The Upside” starring Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman 

 

Seminar Timeline:

11:00 AM – 1:00PM

 

  • Pre-production:

    • Establishing workflow with the studio, production, set and lab; set-up with the Editor and post facility.

  • Production:

    • Dailies, Script Sync, paperwork, databases and Google sheets; Temp VFX, SFX and music for the Editor’s Cut.

 

1:05 PM – 1:25 PM

  • Snack / Coffee Break

 

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

  • Post: Turning over to VFX, Sound, Music, DI (and Marketing, Titles, Graphics, etc.). Screenings & previews, conforms, confidence checks & delivery.

  • Q&A
