Session: 12:00 PM – 3:00PM with half an hour break from 1:30pm – 2:00pm (lunch will be provided)

This course is open to 20 active assistant editors of the Editors Guild and 20 active script supervisors of Local 161.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The relationship, communication and technical aspects of understanding editorial and script supervisor workflows.

OUTLINE

The focus of the seminar will be on communication between our departments using the script supervisor’s notes as the basis for understanding how each department and classification applies the information. Communication protocols and politics will also be discussed in this context. Participants from Local 161 will be asked to bring an example of their paperwork for the purposes of comparing variations. 


BIOS
 
Carrie Puchkoff has been in the cutting room since 1995 starting as an apprentice editor in feature films. She has been an assistant editor on features and television series ever since, working with editors, Michael Berenbaum, Meg Reticker, Allyson Johnson, and Joan Sobel. Carrie’s feature films credits include, Meet The Parents, Admission, The Reader, Sex and the City: The Movie, and Before I Fall. Television includes, Ed, Sex and the City, The Wire, The Looming Tower. She is currently working on the second season of Warrior, where she co-edited with Meg Reticker during season one.


Sharon Watt
has over eighteen years experience as a script supervisor in narrative feature film and episodic television, including cross-boarding multi-episode/mini-series productions. Feature credits include: Stoker, Cafe Society, Lost Girls; TV credits: Boardwalk Empire, The Night Of, Pose, The Americans and currently Mr Robot. She has also been involved in running NYSSN, the New York Script Supervisors Network for the past ten years, and was a L161 Executive Board member from 2009-2016.
