Ciné-Club presents "Norma Rae"

Los Angeles

Address: 7715 Sunset Blvd., Training Room

Screening

Please join us for the screening of “Norma Rae” with a special introduction and discussion by Catherine Repola, Nation Executive Director of Local 700, and Picture Editor Sidney Levin, ACE.

On the 40th anniversary of its original release, “Norma Rae” still delivers a powerful message on behalf of the labor movement. Come see the picture that won Sally Field an Academy Award for the title role and is now part of the Ciné-Club film screening series at the Motion Picture Editors Guild.

Norma Rae (Field) is a single mom and the latest in a long line of family members to work at a local textile mill in North Carolina. Galvanized by labor activist (Ron Liebman), Norma Rae leads a gutsy union drive for better working conditions, although her campaign leads to tensions with her employers as well as her fiancé, Sonny (Beau Bridges).

Refreshments will be served.  Parking located behind the Editors Guild Building

Invitation is for the member and one guest.
