This course is open to 10 active members of the Editors Guild with familiarity in AVID.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
AVID VFX from Start to Finish: temp VFX comps, tracking shots across edits, turning over to vendors, running reviews, and managing deliveries.
OUTLINE
- AVID Project & media setup for narrative jobs
- Temp VFX comps in AVID (focusing on performance VFX, but other types as well)
- Basic VFX tracking in AVID & Filemaker (under 400 shots)
- VFX turnovers to vendors, lineup & count sheets (under 400 shots)
- Managing VFX reviews and deliveries (under 400 shots)
- Other tips/tricks, time permitting.
BIO
Chris Rand has worked in film & television since 2005 and is based in NYC & Brooklyn. He was Associate Editor for Amy Sherman-Pallad
Updateino's Emmy-Award Winning Amazon Pilot "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and John Cameron Mitchell's film "How to Talk to Girls at Parties." Some of his First Assistant Editor credits include Disney's "The Nutcracker & the Four Realms", "Norman", "Kill the Messenger", and the Emmy-Award winning film "Bessie." He is currently editing and assistant editing on Season 1 of the EPIX series "The Godfather of Harlem." He has also edited many short films that have played around the world including at Slamdance, Blackstar, and Brooklyn Film Festival.
