This course is open to 5 active members from the picture editorial classification with basic proficiency in Avid Media Composer.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
We’ll be doing “deep dives” into advanced topics to enhance your creativity and efficiency in the edit room. This is not a beginner’s class; basic proficiency with the software is presumed. This is a discussion based seminar; sharing personal techniques and approaches will be highly encouraged, as will sharing any particular queries or problems you’ve encountered.
OUTLINE

MultiCamera Editing: working and editing with group clips.

VFX Technique and Design: nesting, multilayer effects, animating keyframes, template creation and intraframe effects, notably the paint effect.

Keying and Compositing: basic chroma, luminance and matte keying, animatte effect, tracking for creative use and image area replacement.

Color Correction Mode Basics: scene enhancements, scene matching, and scene stylization.

Audio Editing: keyframing (“rubber banding”), mixing and EQing.

Retiming and Speed Effects: Using the timewarp effect.
BIO
Richard Kronenberg is an Emmy award winning editor who’s worked on Media Composer for over 20 years. He currently cuts field packages for “The Rachael Ray Show". Before that, he watched a lot of cartoons, cutting all 156 episodes of the 4Kids animated series, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.
